Explore Scientific Earns Prestigious Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics

The Arkansas Better Business Bureau recently recognized Explore Scientific’s unwavering commitment to fair and ethical business practices by naming the company as a winner in its 2018 Torch Awards for Ethics competition. The award is designed to honor Arkansas companies that demonstrate the highest standards of business practices and a commitment to building and maintaining trust with their customers, employees, suppliers and communities. “The Better Business Bureau values ethics and trust, and the Torch Awards are spotlighting those organizations who are trying to do it right,” said Mary Glancy, executive director of the Arkansas Better Business Bureau’s Education Foundation. “Nobody is ever perfect, we know that, but these are the ones who work very hard to do what they can, and when they see something wrong, they do whatever they have to do so they can continue to be trusted by their customers.”

For the past decade, Explore Scientific has been on a mission to make astronomy and other scientific exploration accessible and provide enthusiasts of all skill levels the tools and guidance they need to explore the skies above and the world around. Anticipating our customer needs, providing advice and responding to their concerns are critical parts of that mission. “Speaking on behalf of the employees of Explore Scientific, we are sincerely honored to be one of the winners of the Arkansas Better Business Bureau Torch Award,” said Scott Roberts, founder and president of Explore Scientific. “We need to recognize that this would not be possible without our valued customers who make up the community that we try to support in every way we can. Although we have been recognized for doing what we feel is the right thing to do internally in our company for our customers, we cannot rest on our laurels. We must continue to strive to exceed customer expectations in a way that is fair to them and the community that we serve.”

The 2018 Torch Awards for Ethics will be presented on May 3rd during a luncheon at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. State level winners are submitted for consideration for International Torch Award honors.
